Perast, located twelve kilometers from Kotor, is one of the most beautiful baroque towns on the Boka Kotorska.

 |
|
It is a town of churches and palaces and right in front of it lay the two most picturesque islands - Gospa od Skpjela and St George (Sveti Juraj). On Sveti Juraj is a Benedictine monastery; on Gospa od Skrpjela a baroque church was built in 1630. You can take a small boat trip to these islands for approx. €3.00 per person from Perast.
The most beautiful buildings of Perast were built in the 17th and 18th centuries. At that time seafaring was growing and captains built magnificent villas that even today capture you with their beauty.

Perast is a fabulous holiday getaway - calm and peaceful, and is within easy reach of the busier towns. You can take the local bus into Kotor town - just 15 minutes away - for approx. €1.00. It doesn't have sandy beaches, but you can sun-bathe and swim by the many jetties. The sea is very clean, and swimming there is beautiful.
It is a wonderful town for walking and exploring, visiting churches and museums. You can relax for hours on end in a restaurant or café bar there, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, and most likely never want to leave! A day trip at the very least is a must.
