Petrovac is a delightful old fisher village with a small harbor, and is surrounded by olive trees, pine forests and vineyards.

Its beaches are among the finest on the coast. On the pretty walkway along the beach there are many small shops and restaurants.
Its cultural and historic monuments include mosaics dating to the 3rd century and Fortress Kastelo, built by the Venetians in the 16th century. The two small islands Katic and Sveta Nedjelja offshore from Petrovac are a real attraction. Sveta nedjelia has a small church which was supposedly built by a seafarer who was saved from a shipwreck on that island.
