Like Herceg Novi, Tivat is a garden city.  The town park is blooming with exotic plants brought home by gulf sailors.

There is an attractive promenade which has pizza restaurants, ice cream cafes, and a great spot for a coffee or beer, overlooking the sea and the enjoying the bustle of people passing.

As well as open air theatre and cinema, the Cultural Centre offers a Gallery museum, indoor theatre and cinema.  All kinds of cultural events are held here, for example poet evenings.  There is a large sandy beach a few minutes drive from Tivat 'Blue Horizons'.  It has stretches of shallow water which is ideal for children

A small, picturesque village, Donja Lastva, can be found 15 minutes walk from Tivat.  It is a very quiet and charming, a fishermen's village and a perfect place if you want to get away from the crowds.

Just outside the town is Tivat airport, which many charter and scheduled flights currently fly into.  This airport is to be developed in the near future, and there is also talk of budget airlines flying into Tivat.  From Lepatane, which is part of Tivat, connects a car ferry with the other side of the Boka Kotorska.
